Backstory

The concept for Wanderer came to me in a blinding flash on Good Friday 2013, when I looked at dark vein in my leg. The entire story arc was there… it was just a matter of filling in the gap between A and Z!
With no idea of how long it would end up, I simply wrote and wrote and wrote. After 8 months and approximately 26,500 words, Wanderer was finished!
My first serious work of fiction.

As I typed, the voices of other characters whispered to me. However, I feared that if I let the story get too big I would never finish it. So I focussed on the core narrative. Yet I left a few doors open and hinted at a bigger picture, which gave me the option to extend and expand the story.

I am now writing Part 2.

My end game is to finish the story in three parts, then combine them all into a single novel.

I am sharing Wanderer, Part 1 for free, to let my readers taste my writing and decide for themselves if they wish to continue Fran's journey.
I have been thrilled to receive amazing feedback from a startlingly diverse range of people. I invite you to join them, if you will.
